How much that you do, actually is necessary for other people (here many different components - for example, how much your work is unique and irreplaceable etc.)
How much you are able to present, sell results of the work to other people.

However to a society you can bring advantage not only personally own work, but also money earlier earned by you in itself. I now speak about investment. Investing free savings, you for a while transfer your money to business which uses them for reception of profit by manufacture of the necessary goods or rendering of useful services.

And to business which has an opportunity to increase scales and to earn additional profit
And to a society receiving the new goods and services
And to you, in the form of the additional passive income for which it is not necessary to work - percent, dividends, etc.

It is interesting, that your money, being correctly and with mind are invested, the income, than own labour activity can in due course start to bring to you much more больший.

However to invest money correctly and with mind, and really to receive this passive income (instead of to lose them in the next financial adventure), financial literacy is necessary.

Problem of the majority of our fellow citizens that they have no this financial literacy. In it do not train at schools and institutes. Despite an abundance of books on book counters, I cannot recommend any of them as the good textbook that investments and as the financial markets actually work actually are. Robert Kijosaki's same books from a series "the Rich daddy, the poor daddy" which have cleared at many interest to investment (and which I recommend to read necessarily if you still have not made till now it), have more likely motivating character, than are an explanation of "game rules".
